Taking some time to be more attentive to each new moment as it emerges is the essential to experiencing more aliveness, connection, and peace, regardless of what is going on in your life or what you think it must appear like.
Out of Your Head and Into Your Life.
Next thing I knew, I d be pulling into the car park at work, without any recollection of having actually driven there.

The minute is always fresh and alive. The motion pictures that play in our heads are stagnant and old. They are lacking life.
Being lost in previous and future mind-movies pulls our attention far from today minute, far from life, far from reality.
As quickly as we wake up each early morning, the mind TV instantly switches on and begins transmitting our familiar programs.
The Past and Future Have No Life of Their Own.
So how do you get out of your head and back into your life?
To my mind, mindfulness practice is the easiest and most reliable method to achieve this.
Our true home is in today moment. When we enter today moment deeply, our remorses and sorrows disappear, and we discover life with all its wonders.
Although I had actually been practicing and teaching other types of meditation for several years, I became curious to read more about the mindfulness approach and signed up for an eight-week course.
When the mind is quiet, we have the ability to engage straight with life, as children do. When we really focus on the richness of today moment, we become enthralled with life, as kids are.
Our True Home Is today Moment.
The minute is constantly fresh and alive. They are devoid of life.

Ill finish with these lovely words about walking meditation from Buddhist mindfulness instructor, Thich Nhat Hahn:.

It is both humbling and amazing to really see the enormity of what is going on around us and within us in every moment– when you pay attention.

When we do this, we overcome dispersion and dwell peacefully in the present moment, which is the only minute for us to be alive.”.

The wondrous transformation of the garden occurred through a shift in attention alone. Nothing different or new appeared on the outside. Everything was exactly as in the past.
We are generally so sidetracked by the believing mind that we overlook the immense richness that is present all around. Listening to the fullness of what each moment contains, as children are, naturally instils a sense of wonder and joy within.
During the course, there was one specific workout, “strolling meditation,” that had a long lasting impression on me.
As we moseyed and calmly through the rich gardens of the retreat center, we were welcomed to be attentive to the present minute– to feel the ground below our feet and pay very close attention to every little movement and experience in the body, as we mindfully put one foot after the other.
