More than 1,000 nurses in the Philadelphia area are set to strike for two days beginning Nov. 17 at hospitals that are part of Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Healths Mid-Atlantic division, according to the union that represents them.
The 800 nurses at St. Mary have actually been in negotiations with healthcare facility management for more than a year.
The Pennsylvania Association of Staff Nurses and Allied Professionals, which represents the nurses, stated its members stand out due to the fact that hospital executives, in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, “have actually declined to put standard patient securities and fairness for nurses in the nurses contracts.”.

The union stated the more than 260 nurses at Mercy Fitzgerald have recorded more than 30 incidents of unsafe staffing in the last month.
The nurses operate at the Fitzgerald Campus in Delaware County and St. Mary Medical Center in Bucks County.
