FDA, FTC warn 2 companies selling faulty COVID-19 treatments

On Nov. 2, the 2nd caution letter was sent out to Emeryville, Calif.-based NovaBay Pharmaceuticals for selling an eyelid spray and antimicrobial facial spray, both of which the business claims can treat and avoid COVID-19.

The firms provided a caution Oct. 30 to Lansing, Mich.-based Watershed Wellness. The business sells “Dissolve BioActive Silicate” and other products which contain silver with unproven claims that they can prevent and deal with COVID-19..

The FDA and Federal Trade Commission just recently released warning letters to two companies that claimed their products would help avoid COVID-19..

The FDA requested both business immediately stop offering the unauthorized items. There are presently no FDA-approved products that avoid COVID-19.
