Bellefontaine, Ohio-based Mary Rutan Hospital got rid of a link and found offering patient info accidentally posted online, HHS exposed Oct. 29.
1. On Sept. 8, the health center recognized a link online to an Excel spreadsheet consisted of tables with client health details such as names, birth dates, service dates and other health information. The spreadsheet also consisted of the diagnosis related groups code and expense of see info.
2. Social Security numbers and banking info was not exposed in the incident.
3. Mary Rutan Hospital eliminated the tables with the protected health details and carried out procedures prior to releasing the diagnosis associated groups data online to avoid similar incidents.
4. The incident exposed the information of 1,677 clients, according to HHS.
