Walgreens runs 620 screening sites in the U.S. and Puerto Rico and said it anticipates to open 80 more by the end of this week..

” Were continuing to expand our COVID-19 screening program to improve access in the neighborhoods we serve, and this will assist to attend to the growing need for screening for teenagers and children,” said Rick Gates, senior vice president of pharmacy at Walgreens. “As more health departments and school administrators continue efforts to bring trainees back to classrooms in a thoughtful and safe way, and to help parents and guardians seeking access to screening when required for their kids, were happy to be a neighborhood testing resource for individuals and households — including those age 3 and over.”.

Moms and dads are required to sign an electronic permission before their kids can be checked, and they must accompany their kids to the testing website..

Walgreens stated Oct. 22 it is expanding its COVID-19 testing to be readily available to kids ages 3 years and older. It was formerly just available to individuals 18 and older..

Children or moms and dads can administer the test, and a Walgreens pharmacist will instruct them on how to do it..
