Under the agreement, Sonoma Valley Hospitals CEO, CFO and CMO would be used by UCSF, with the healthcare facility reimbursing UCSF on a pass-through basis, composed Jane Hirsch, RN, chair of the Sonoma Valley Health Care District board of directors, in a newsletter Oct. 6.
Sonoma Valley Hospital is currently an affiliate of UCSF Health and discussed possibly broadening the association throughout a September closed health care district board meeting.
In addition to the integrated executive management proposal, an expanded association could also include the chance for UCSF to buy direct services such as operations improvement, quality and regulatory issues, strategic planning and advancement, and marketing.
Sonoma (Calif.) Valley Hospital stated it is considering a management services contract with UCSF Health in San Francisco that requires integrated executive management.
Ms. Hirsch said the healthcare district board will consider final recommendations concerning the UCSF relationship on Nov. 5
Ms. Hirsch said Sonoma Valley Hospital would continue to provide IT, human resources, income cycle and facilities management, and UCSF might also contract with the health center to offer specific services such as the diagnostic services already prepared via Sonoma Valley Hospitals new outpatient diagnostic.
Ms. Hirsch stated the CEO would still report to the health care district board of directors “with a dotted line to the UCSF affiliates president.”.
