The Illinois Nurses Association, which represents 720 nurses at the hospital, said its members sent grievances called “task in spite of objection” forms, which declare unsafe working conditions and inadequate staffing that are deemed a threat to client safety.
” When an aide or assistant is not on responsibility or staffed to an unit, those responsibilities are normally carried out by a nurse, which diminishes direct client care,” she stated.
The hospital, in response to nurses grievances, told Beckers, “The health and safety of our clients are our top priorities at Amita Health Saint Joseph Medical Center Joliet. We continually review and attend to opportunities to maintain a premium, safe environment of look after our associates, doctors and patients.”
Nurses at Amita Health Saint Joseph Medical Center Joliet (Ill.) have sent more than 100 problems given that late July, when they approved a brand-new contract after a 16-day strike, according to the union that represents them.
