Researcher discovers healthcare info of 3.1M patients online

Security researcher Bob Dianchenko discovered millions of peoples healthcare information readily available online, according to a Silicon Angle report.

3 things to understand:.

1. The medical info might have been taken from medical software application business Adit, which helps with online visit scheduling and client management for oral and medical practices.

2. On July 13, Mr. Dianchenko discovered client names, e-mail addresses and medical practice names for 3.1 million patients released online without requiring a password or other authentication.

3. The database info is no longer online.
