UC Irvine to add pharmacy school

” Were thrilled to launch the School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences as the next action in UCIs strong reimagining of healthcare, one that moves the focus of patient care from dealing with disorders to avoiding them,” Howard Gillman, PhD, UC Irvines chancellor, said in an Aug. 4 news release. “Infused with that spirit, the school will focus on the entire patient, spanning the continuum from drug discovery to scientific practice.”.

The school, which acquired approval from University of California regents July 30, will be Californias very first new public drug store school in nearly 20 years.

The brand-new school will make up UC Irvines existing pharmaceutical sciences department and its brand-new scientific drug store department. Its brand-new Doctor of Pharmacy program, which will begin registration throughout the fall of 2021, will set a path for bachelors, masters, doctoral, combined and postbaccalaureate degrees.

The University of California Irvine is releasing its School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, the only public pharmacy school in the states Southland region.
